A 16 percent increase was reported for liposuction which replaced breast augmentation as the most frequently performed procedure. Americans spent more than one billion was spent on just liposuction surgery.

Considering the hike in the number of procedures, buttock augmentation is in the lead with a 58% increase from 2012. Women had 10.3 million of the total procedures last year, which is 90.6%. Compared to 1997, there has been a 471% increase in the procedures performed by women. The statistics for the men showed a 273% increase from 1997 and they underwent 1 million cosmetic procedures last year (9.4%).
Another interesting fact is there has been an increase in the number of consumers conducting online research for cosmetic surgery in recent times. Less-invasive procedures, technological advances, and better accessibility are driving demand for cosmetic treatments. Economic recovery has also contributed to these positive trends.
